With Twine’s new Course Builder functionality, doing this is now easier than ever.
Teachers can easily create sequenced learning content including rich web text, video, photo albums, discussions, polls, web content, links, quizzes, assessments, and much more. Course materials may be imported in a variety of formats including: IMS Common Cartridge, ePub (eBook, digital textbooks, etc.), SCORM and websites, which means you can present content from just about any publisher or open-source content provider. Once imported, the content can be edited as required by the teacher.
What makes this even more valuable, though, is the ability to track student progress as they work through the online materials. We provide two ways this can happen: First, Twine tracks student access to each part of the Course and produces a History and Progress summary view for the teacher. The “History” view provides detailed access into each student’s activity within the classroom from a time perspective.
Second, students can mark items in the course as “complete” or can give feedback to the teacher about how much they understand from a dropdown box with options such as “I get it” and “This is confusing.” This quick and easy feedback allows students to acknowledge areas they don’t understand without the pressure or embarrassment of doing so in the middle of class. It also allows teachers to focus on the topics students don’t understand and really use class time efficiently and effectively.
