Make documenting student learning a snap

Imagine this for a moment: You’re making your way around the classroom, looking over student work and talking with each student about the book they’ve just finished reading. Some students are drawing storyboards to represent key elements of the story, some are writing traditional book reports and one student is even writing a song!

Sounds great, right? The difficulty comes when you sit down to formally assess the students on these 1:1 conversations, pieces of art, and non-traditional classroom assignments. Gradebooks, whether part of a learning management system or not, don’t typically include ways to capture these types of assessments.

Now imagine you could take pictures and record videos to upload as evidence of student learning. Imagine tagging these items by standard demonstrated or learning goal achieved and sharing your observations and ad-hoc assessments with other staff members, parents, and students. Imagine using this approach to track student growth throughout the year – even when there aren’t formal tests or quizzes.

We’re excited to now offer exactly this ability as part of Twine. This is just one of many ways having an LMS – especially one with robust features – can help teachers work more efficiently and have more time to focus on their students.
